The Rolling River Band: Music
Painting By Numbers
(The Rolling River Band)
Steven Perrott
The world is like a wagon wheel
Way it turns around
One minute you're up on cloud nine
The next you're feeling down
Lazy days in the summer haze
Well that's just fine
Sunday morning out to dry
On your washing line
You required a little chiselling
Before you became my gem
I guess that's only natural
And I'm guilty of the same
Your sweet perfume
Like flowers in bloom
Hangs heavy round my head
You know how much you mean to me
Although it's left unsaid
Chorus
Painting by numbers
Everyday
Choosing my colours
My own way
Just painting by numbers
Between the lines
Going through the motions
One more time
One more time
Remember we stayed out all night
In my old car
Above the lonely valley
We caught ourselves a falling star
And though it seems so long ago
And now we're getting on
I'm glad we made the effort babe
I'm glad that we're still strong
Chorus
